Kayonza District hosts Pakistan’s Delegation, Who Praise Rwanda’s Inclusive Governance

On this Thursday, Mayor John Bosco Nyemazi received a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by Mr. Sanjeev Pakharel who are in Rwanda for a benchmark visit. During their visit to the District the delegation was briefed on the work of the District Social Protection programs.

They exchanged experiences on decentralization, governance, and socio-economic transformation, with a focus on how local government supports communities to achieve sustainable development by learning how District implements the Vision Umurenge Program (VUP) to uplift vulnerable households and how partners in Joint Action Development Forum (JADF) contributes and coordinates partnerships for inclusive development. 

The delegation visited Urugo Women’s Opportunity Center in Nyamirama Sector and witnessed women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship and skills training. In Mukarange Sector they visited SACCA Non-Government Organization , they saw how youth are equipped with vocational skills. They appreciated how Local Government and partners collaborate for socio-economic impact.


During the debrief, the delegation commended Rwanda’s approach to inclusive governance, accountability, and community ownership in development programs. They highlighted key takeaways on effective Local Government’s strategies that drive sustainable transformation.
